Being a stay-at-home mom is beautiful and sacrificial. My kids are able to be a part of my creative process from beginning to end. And while I appreciate that, there is something that I often forget how much I miss until I’m alone. 
That’s creating alone. 
When I’m in a space where I can create by myself, I only have to give myself to what I’m working on, not to the little voices yelling my name over and over or the little hands pulling at the skin on my legs demanding to be held again. There is beauty in that, don’t let me confuse you. But I also need space to remember what kind of creative person I am outside of being mom. 
This colored pencil piece was created in a space just for me to be in.
